Meet mama of many talents AND hats, instructor Tallie Nguyen.
Stroller Strides, Body Back, Fit4Baby
Tell us about yourself and your family.
Hello, My name is Tallie and I am mom to Junie (3 years) and Duc (14 months). I am married to Joe Nguyen and we live in the Genessee area of West Seattle. I found FIT4MOM while living in Eastlake after my daughter was born but fell in love with FIT4MOM while pregnant with my son living in West Seattle, through Fit4Baby. We are an active family and live an active lifestyle both physically and mentally. We love to hike around the city, find adventures through the neighborhood, and get involved with our community. There isn't much of West Seattle that we haven't touched, climbed on or explored.
What surprised you the most once you became a mom?
What surprised me most after becoming a mom was how time just flutters by me. I find it incredibly difficult to complete daily tasks in a timely manner. I also have found that no matter what mood any of us are in it can be cured with a warm bath! The most control I have during the day with two littles is when they are both splashing around in the bath, its amazing how both of my kiddos can go from inconsolable monsters to giggling loves just by turning on the bath water.
Why did you join FIT4MOM? Why do you love it?
I joined FIT4MOM because I needed a sense of routine in my day, something I could plan on to get me out the door! I love FIT4MOM because it not only gave me a sense of community is has become my support system, my village. The more classes and events I attended the more I felt my village wrap around me, this was a huge part of why I decided to teach. I now teach Stroller Strides at 9:30 on Thursdays and Body back at 7:30 pm on Tuesdays.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? If you didn't have any obstacles, what dream would you pursue?
5 years from now I hope to be still living in West Seattle and maybe a mother of 3. I would hope by then to have access to my own network of horses to pursue a dream of hippotherapy (horse therapy).
What is your favorite go to piece of baby gear?
Ergo baby. I carry my Ergo every where I go. Whether its my 3 year old on my back or my 1 year old I always have it!
Any advice for new moms?
Everything is temporary, the good and the bad. They do sleep, they do stop crying, they do learn all the great things. So take a deep breath and know you are doing ALL the things right. Call your mom friends, get out of the house and take care of you!
