Meet veteran Body Backer and current Shred Mama, Dana Margolis!


Tell us about yourself and your family.

My husband and I are both Seattle transplants - Seth is Canadian and I'm from Wisconsin. I'm Director at The Little Gym, and Seth is Director of Education at The Museum of Flight. We've lived in West Seattle for 15 years and LOVE our community. We have a 9 year old, Esta, and an almost 7 year old, Lane.

What surprised you the most once you became a mom?

How exhausting it is! BC (before children) I thought my life was busy - thinking back, it makes me laugh!Yet I wouldn't change it for the world.

Why did you join FIT4MOM? Why do you love it?

Last July, I turned the big (ahem) 4-0. I've always been active, but as I was getting older, I wasn't feeling my best self. Becoming a parent requires a lot of sacrifice. To be the mom, wife and woman I want to be, personal care is imperative. If I don't take care of myself, who will?

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? If you didn't have any obstacles, what dream would you pursue?

A mom of teenagers. Ouch! All jokes aside, continuing to be active, and setting a good example for my girls. I know it sounds crazy, but I've always wanted to be a forensic scientist.

What is your favorite go to piece of baby gear?

It was the Nose Frieda. Sucks the snot right out of those little noses when they have a cold. Gross but effective.

Any advice for new moms?

Don't be so hard on yourself. Do what works best for you, your child(ren), and your family. Surround yourself with positive people and energy.
