Meet two-time Strider and former Fit4Baby Mama, Adelle Squires!
Tell us about yourself and your family.
I'm Adelle, my husband is Andrew, and we are parents to Ariana, age 2.5 and Austin, age 4 months. I work as a Client Services/Project Manager for a digital advertising agency named Wunderman. My husband is a Sales Manager for a company called Avvo. We are both from the Greater Puget Sound area and have lived in West Seattle since 2013. I love to read (mostly listening to audiobooks these days ) and ski. Our family loves being outdoors, and spending time with extended family and friends.
What surprised you the most once you became a mom?
How hard breastfeeding was with my first. From a joyful perspective, since having my second, I was amazed at how naturally things came that time around, and how wonderful it is to feel the completeness of our small, loving family.
Why did you join FIT4MOM? Why do you love it?
I started the prenatal classes with FIT4MOM when pregnant with my first on the recommendation of a coworker who had a great experience. I did stroller strides with both children on maternity leave; it was so great to be able to still be with my little ones, amongst a wonderful and supportive group of women + working on getting back in shape. This fall I hope to do BodyBack and maybe even run club at some point!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? If you didn't have any obstacles, what dream would you pursue?
In 5 years I see myself being amazed by how time flies! Hopefully continuing to be healthy, enjoying watching my kiddos grow while being as supportive as possible of them and my husband, and in a thriving career.
If there were truly no obstacles I would love to live in an island town and own a coffee/sandwich shop as well as be on committees for charities. Would also love to travel the world with my family during summers.
What is your favorite go to piece of baby gear?
The rock n play has gotten pretty solid usage with both babes, this second time around I'm loving the Ergo carrier too!
Any advice for new moms?
I feel like it is what everyone says, but it is true; expect the unexpected and roll with it! Also, try to be present.. each phase passes so quickly and is so precious (mostly )!
